How a trust score is calculated
This page explains the scoring model. You don't need to read it to use TopBetting — how we verify and the evidence on each operator do the real work. Methodology is here so the score is auditable.
Two numbers, not one
We always show a trust score (how well an operator performed on what we verified) alongside coverage & confidence (how much we've checked and how recent it is). A score without coverage can mislead, so we never show one alone.
Evidence: The score is computed only from verified tests; what those tests are is shown in How we verify. See where →
The six areas and their weight
| Area | Weight |
|---|---|
| Withdrawal & Payments | 35% |
| Licensing & Legitimacy | 20% |
| KYC & Account Integrity | 13% |
| Deposits & Funding | 12% |
| Customer Support | 12% |
| App & Platform | 8% |
The score is a weighted average across only the verified areas, re-based to 0–100. Untested areas don't lower the score — they lower coverage.
When we publish a score
A score is published only once coverage reaches 25%. Below that, the operator is shown honestly as Under Review or Verification In Progress — never with a number we can't stand behind.
Freshness
| Area | Counts fully until | Expires after |
|---|---|---|
| Withdrawal · Deposit | 60 days | 90 days |
| Support · App | 120 days | 180 days |
| KYC | 150 days | 240 days |
| Licensing | 270 days | 365 days |
When a serious failure caps the score
| Confirmed failure | Score capped at |
|---|---|
| Non-payment of a legitimate withdrawal | 30 |
| Fake / illegitimate operator | 15 |
| Fund seizure / arbitrary closure | 35 |
Evidence: Caps apply only to confirmed, evidenced failures — never rumour. See where →
Worked example
Illustrative — not a real operator's score.
Four areas verified (Withdrawal 80 fresh, Licensing 85 fresh, KYC 75 aged, Deposit 90 fresh; Support & App untested) produces:
| Result | Value |
|---|---|
| Trust score | 82 / 100 |
| Tier | Highly Trusted |
| Coverage | 77% |
| Confidence | Medium |
Independence of the scoring engine is explained in How we stay independent. Methodology version 1.0.
